RedBallooners Go Back To School

As we started talking about the content for our Back To School Newsletter, stories and banter ensued about what RedBallooners were like at school.

If you’re like me, music is the soundtrack to your life, so when I started flicking through old school photos, hits of the 80s and 90s flood through my mind.

The Eurythmics era – I’m grooving with my ghetto blaster in tow, wearing pink converse and a blue hypercolour t-shirt. I may have been more interested in Barbie and My Little Pony than rollerdiscos and shoulder pads, but hey I was still cool.

The Alanis Morissette years – the parallel between my long, dark hair with a middle part and angst with that of Alanis was undeniable. Unfortunately, the size of my large eyebrows during this era was ALSO undeniable. NOT so cool.

So when I’m asked to contribute MY photo from school days, guess which era I choose?

KB at school Hello, cool Kristie age 7!

Don’t let the pigtails and innocent smile fool you. I was sophisticated and cutting edge cool. Hey, did anyone else ever used to make music videos of themselves singing 80s power ballads with their siblings? Umm.. didn’t think so. Maybe I wasn’t so cool in the 80s afterall!

In any case, I thought it would be fun to share how cool or not cool OTHER RedBallooners were at school. Can YOU pick who’s who? ;-)

Write a comment with your guesses.
