A hat trick of awards at RedBalloon

Every business loves a Friday, but today at RedBalloon is extra special. From lunchtime yesterday we scored a swag of awards so we’re shouting from the rooftops.

Best of all, big boss Naomi Simson won the industry category in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. The E&Y judges commented: “Naomi Simson has shown true entrepreneurial spirit, vision and passion in creating a new industry and way of gifting. She has demonstrated great self-awareness through her ability to step back and work on the business, not in the business – a rare quality for a founder. Naomi is also a wonderful and active role model for female entrepreneurs.” Go Naomi!

Then our fabulous employee experience manager, Megan Bromley, was named the Australian Human Resources Institute’s (AHRI) HR Practitioner of the Year, receiving the Dave Ulrich award for her contribution to business outcomes. Which is a posh way of saying she makes sure RedBalloon is an awesome place to work. We know she makes coming here a delight each day for all of us, but now she’s been recognised by her professional peers for her efforts. Congratulations Megan!

Finally, we also made the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 again – for the fourth time. All in all, an exciting 24 hours – we’re going to need a lie down from all the excitement!

Congrats to Naomi on the award. Great work.
I discovered this blog while reading an article about E&Y awards. Will come back often.
