RedBalloon Celebrates FY12!

Becca shares how RedBalloon celebrates a year of heard work and great success…

Being a Pomme I continually try to convince my friends back in England to move to the sunny side. Now, I’ve used all manner of things to convince them to move; the constant sunshine (I know Australia does get rain sometimes but I forget to mention that to them), the outdoors lifestyle and the great opportunities. So when my friend came to visit from England it was perfect timing for me to show him all of these great points by taking him as my guest to a RedBalloon party!

The theme of our RedBalloon party was Outback Chic so, decked in my brown shirt-dress, fringed cowboy boots, fringed waistcoat and brown hat, I was ready to get the RedBalloon party started.

Our party started out on a sunny Friday afternoon at 4pm with a short walk to the wharf where we caught a ferry to The Deckhouse in Woolwich. The Employee Experience team made sure that the party started there and then on the ferry with some drinks in preparation for our evening ahead.

Once at the Deckhouse we were greeted with a red coloured cocktail called a ‘RedBalloon’ and once inside we all rushed to the lolly tree and devoured the sweeties it was adorned with.

Dinner was a 3 course yummy feast with our Acting CEO rapping on the microphone – I had to explain to my friend that yes this was the RedBalloon way to celebrate the end of the financial year!

After dinner and some dancing we boarded the ferry to Cockatoo Island where we told ghost stories and explored the island in the dark.

After a surprisingly comfortable night we awoke and barbequed our breakfast in the beautiful sunshine overlooking the harbour. At this point I turned to my friend and said “so when are you moving to Australia?” and his was response was “Does RedBalloon have any spare jobs?”.
