All in a days work

…A typical day for Jay Bardon!

Life ain’t so bad at RedBalloon.

Looking after the Flying, Driving and Adventure sports categories for RedBalloon is a good gig. Officially they call me a product category manager; however I have read between the lines of that all-important document called a “Role Expectation” and have come to the realisation that I really should be called a full-time experience road tester.

Yes that’s right, my job is to get out there and make sure that all the RedBalloon experiences are top quality – and let me tell you, 2012 has been a busy year!

I have put in the hard yards this year and tested a heap of experiences for you – this includes Skydiving over the Beach in Wollongong; racing V8s around Wakefield, followed by hot laps with V8 ledged John Bowe; flown over the Sydney Harbour in a Helicopter; drove rally cars and V8 buggies; and even spent a morning in a Hot Air Balloon. It’s been a tough job but somebody’s got to do it! And I can now guarantee that we have the best experiences in the world.

With 2013 just around the corner I am going to have to step it up – so here’s the plan. I have armed myself with a GoPro camera and I am going to film every experience that I test throughout the year. I know that we still have a week or so of 2012 to go, but being a dedicated RedBallooner I thought I would get a head start. Check out the video below of my day in the office (I mean at the race track, strapped into a Formula Ford). Yep another experience a can personally endorse!

Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Jay, that looks fantastic. I got to have a go in a Formula 1 stimulator Whoops I meant to say Simulator at the Grand Prix in Montreal this year. I did a pretty good job too.
Well considering that your Mummy taught you to drive I think you should repay her for all her patience and let her have a ride at that track when I return to Oz in a few weeks time. What do you think????
