BUSted! Taking Christmas to the streets

At RedBalloon we’re all about being authentic. Being an online business means we’ve no bricks and mortar storefront where people can come in and meet us face-to-face.  So we’re always on the look out for ways to bring RedBalloon to life – including using RedBallooners on our website and in advertising, rather than booking pouty, air-brushed model types for our photo shoots (luckily, we’re a genetically-blessed bunch!)

We’ve used pictures of our people in brochures, in reviews and in newsletters. But never have we blown them to over three metres tall and told them they look like the back of a bus!
This year’s “12 Yays of Christmas” featuresRedBallooners Georgia, Holly, Mark and Mitch on 300 Sydney metro buses. Each appears in a separate execution holding an iPad featuring a RedBalloon experience.

There’s also Facebook element to the campaign, where fans are encouraged to take a photo of a bus featuring the ad and post it to the RedBalloon Facebook page to win one of the featured experiences.

If buses aren’t enough, you can also spot Georgia on billboards at ten Sydney train stations: Bondi Junction, North Sydney, Redfern, Burwood, Kogorah, Epping, North Ryde, Edgecliff and Macquarie University.

The creative comes from The Alchemists, with Match Media responsible for strategy and buying.
